An ancient stone, shrouded in mystery

About a five-minute walk up the steep slopes of the eastern peak of Mt. Kaibuki extending from the residential district, a massive granite rock comes into view. It's about 11m long from east to west, about 8m from north to south, and about 4.7m tall. It's been theorized that it weighs about 800t, and at the top there are holes about 1.6m wide on each side and about 1.2m deep. There are no records on who created these, or why, and the subject is shrouded in mystery.
