The world's oldest celestial map
Kitora Tumulus Mural Experiential Museum Shijin no Yakata

The Kitora Tumulus is the second case of a tumulus with wall paintings after Takamatsuzuka Tumulus, wherein richly colored murals were discovered inside the stone chamber. The paintings on the ceiling of the chamber are famed for being the world's oldest astronomical chart. At the Kitora Tumulus Mural Experiential Museum Shijin no Yakata, visitors can enjoy learning about tumuli and murals. There are also plenty of experiential programs such as ancient glass-making.
