The invaluable ruins of an ancient Japanese palace
Naniwa no Miya Ato Park
In the roughly 150 years following the capital's relocation to Naniwa with the Taika Reforms, the Naniwa no Miya imperial palace fulfilled a large role in Japan's history. As a result of a long-term excavation project, it became clear that the two phases of Naniwa Palace were spread over Hoenzaka in Chuo-ku. Now, core components such as the imperial palace and reception compound are deemed as national historic sites.
